Square watermelon

The round shaped watermelon is difficult to transport and take up more space,so farmers of Kagawa prefecture, south of the country, found a way to ease the transport of these large fruits.
No chemicals are used to carve watermelons. The fruit is just put in a plastic or glass  Mold during their maturation.
In this way, consumers can more easily enter the watermelon in the fridge!
Square watermelon is more practical, but much more expensive than a normal watermelon.

They are also some cute heart-shaped watermelons 😀

In Japan, KitKat is the king of candy.

Launched in northern England in the 1930s, Nestlé Kit Kat was exported to Japan more recently.
The word kit-kat sounds very close to kitto katsu, that could be translated into “sure succeed” ,
that helped the brand to launch with great success.
Most of the youngs started to offer KitKat before exams or job interviews, writing a little message of cheer up or good luck on the white area left on the packaging.
In Japan they have a big variety of different flavors !!

green tea, matcha tea, wasabi, soy sauce, miso, red bean
sweet potato, lemon, latte, almond, hazelnut, aloe, yogurt, chili, cheese, chilli, cheesecake, pudding, white chocolate , caramel, vanilla, cookies, cocoa, pastry cream, crème brûlée , rose, banana, peach, melon, apple, strawberry, blueberry, orange, kiwi, raspberry, mango, passion fruit, pear, apricot, watermelon…
And of course there are special Seasonal editions and regional editions .

Also a big reason of their success 😉

Why Japanese wear masks?

In Japan, many people wear surgical masks. This can seem odd to us and so we wonder why they do it.
At the beginning, people worn masks for hygienic reasons. When they have a cold or allergy, they wear masks basically to prevent others to be infected by their germs.

In 2003, anti hay-fever mask appeared on the market. This mask could even block the germ and pollen, and it is at very good price! So even the healthy people started wearing it.
The mask sales increased, it became very popular.
So some people start to wear it to keep their faces warm during cold days, other to hide their faces when day do not have time to make-up or shave their faces.
But some people even see it as a fashion accessory. That is why,we can find many cute masks in the market,in variety of colors and styles. 😉
